Church Musician

 

Casual 12- 15hours per week

 

About the Role

 

We are seeking a committed Christian musician with a heart for ministry and developing people to join our church music team as Musician and Trainer. Our church has a growing community of volunteer musicians and singers with a wide range of abilities.

 

This role will focus on developing people, building teams and strengthening our music ministry, while also actively co-cordinating the music band with other worship leaders during our church services and events.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Play keyboard/piano during church services and other ministry events.

 

- Preferably play a second instrument, particularly drum kit.

 

- Train, coach and encourage volunteer musicians and singers at different skill levels.

 

- Help beginners develop musical skills, confidence and the ability to play or sing as part of a team.

 

- Organise and support rehearsals, helping bands become more cohesive and prepared for services.

 

- Help identify and develop emerging musicians, singers and future ministry leaders.

 

- Work with worship leaders, pastors and other ministry leaders to support the church's vision.

 

- Help create a positive, welcoming and encouraging culture within the music ministry.

 

Who We Are Looking For

 

The ideal candidate will be:

- A strong keyboard/piano player with experience in contemporary worship music.

- Able to play another instrument, preferably drums.

- A patient and effective teacher and coach, particularly with beginners.

- A team builder who enjoys developing and encouraging volunteers.

- Organised, reliable and able to prepare teams for services.

- A humble, servant-hearted person who works well with others.

- A committed follower of Jesus Christ, with a genuine personal faith demonstrated through their character, relationships and involvement in Christian ministry.

- Passionate about using music to serve God, build community and help others grow.

The goal is not simply to have good musicians on stage, but to develop a healthy community of people who use their musical gifts to worship God and serve the church.
